🦖 Adopt-a-Dinosaur: Read to Keep Them Alive! 🦕

Program Type: Game/Activity | Passive
Ages: Children (5–8), Tweens (9–12), Teens (13–18), Multigenerational

Description:
Choose your very own dinosaur to adopt and help it thrive through the power of reading!

Patrons of all ages are invited to visit the library and select a dinosaur figurine to adopt. Each dinosaur comes with a personalized Adoption Paper that includes its name, personality, and fun facts—but there’s one important responsibility…

📚 Your dinosaur depends on YOU to survive!
To keep your dinosaur happy and healthy, you must read to it! Whether it’s a picture book, chapter book, or even a magazine, every story you share helps your dinosaur grow stronger.

Participants will track their reading using the library’s official book tracker, which they will receive at sign-up. As they mark off books they’ve read, they’ll be helping their dinosaur stay strong and healthy all summer long!

This fun, self-guided program encourages imagination, builds consistent reading habits, and creates a special connection between readers and their prehistoric pals.

Duration: 2–4 weeks (or throughout Summer Reading)
Cost: Free

Adopt, read, and help your dinosaur thrive—because every great reader makes a great dinosaur caretaker! 🦴✨
